As a long string of islands, Key West
is perhaps best known for its fantastic
snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing.
Since it boasts the only living coral
barrier reef in the continental US, there
aren’t as many wide, sandy beaches,
as in the rest of southern Florida. But
what the keys lack in quantity, they
make up for in quality. The sandy
shores at the Bahia Honda State Park
for example, are stunning and long.
And the southern west island, Key
West, is home of several beaches, in-
cluding the gorgeous Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park. There’s a white sand beach,
clear turquoise water and lush vegetation with great views of breathtaking Key West
sunsets.

In Key West you have lively nightlife with night clubs, bars, restaurants, street cafes’,
and  you can find them everywhere.

The buildings in Key West developed their own style, and get called today the very
beautiful “Key West Architecture”. In the past there were several famous artists living
in Key West, Ernest Hemingway, Tennessee Williams and Robert Frost. It seems, that
the special exotic atmosphere was very inspiring for them. Key West is also known
for its gorgeous sunsets.

You can participate in dive and snorkel
charters, in sightseeing trips on the water,
for getting the adventures seen of the past.
Original fishing charters for catching snappers,
groupers and lobsters are also always available.

Key West's largest and most pristine reefs
are located several miles off shore and can get
best visited with the help of professional dive
and snorkel charter services. However, fasci-
nating snorkeling is also available from the
shores, supervised by the non-profit group Reef Relief and the City of Key West.

Sand Key is one of the many popular reef destinations off Key West. This islet, marked
with a large iron lighthouse, delights both snorkelers and scuba divers and shows an
abundance and variety of coral and marine life. With over ten miles of coral reefs of
varying depths, Sand Key offers visitors endless opportunities, to enjoy some of the
best diving, like in the Caribbean.

But these are only a few of the opportunities,
of what you can do in Key West. There are so
many locations for sightseeing and enjoyment,
where you can go and play, that even helicop-
ters, catamarans and kayaks are available,
to show you around in this most beautiful
exotic paradise on earth.
